Hello, Let me just say I am a NT with a few AS charactertistics. But I have an Internet friend that I have been talking to for over 2 yrs. now and I have romantic feelings for this man (even though we have never met). I have recently suspeceted that he may be an Aspie. I don't know if he was ever diagnosed, but I don't believe he has been. Yet I think he is aware that he is a little 'different'. So what I want to know is this.. Might he be an Aspie if he cannot call me, but will answer me or text me back if I do so first? He also has insensitvity to pain(physical), cannot ask someone out for a date, is very inexperienced sexually for his age (30yrs. old), when I do call him he is very shy and doesn't talk a lot. When we talk online he is very grammatically correct. If he misspells a word he will correct it. He is very intelligent and high functioning, has a good memory, is a computer programmer, plays online games as well as Nintendo...things of this nature. I guess you can tell that I have been researching this. :D But I wanted to know from people who are Aspie, if this man might be also. What do you all think? I care very much about him, and knowing this will help me to communicate better or maybe differently than I have been. I had not even heard of Asperger's until about a month ago, and I just started putting things together. So hope to hear from some of you.
Thanks

Welcome.

He sounds like me in a lot of ways. I don't know if I have it really, but I like this forum regardless.

Welcome...

I can pull it off acting as if I am not an autistic most of the time.... then I need to isolate myself, stem a bit and recharge.... it is usually done when I go to work...

It is possible, but is difficult to kow if he is on the autism spectrum and is on the high functioning end with just enough traits to be on the spectrum or something else... Some behaviors derived from ADD/ADHD are similar to those on the Autism spectrum...

Some of the things I deal with is due to me being ADHD, others is due to me being autistic... I do not like telephones, i do not like my picture taken and have few of me around... do not like crowds of people, stresses me out every time... I rather wake up and go shopping at 3 am than to go during the afternoon when most people go shopping...

He could be on the spectrum as you suspect... I do not have enough information to make a speculation if he is or not...

Thanks all for you welcomes, and your take on my question. I have been reading a lot on this forum and learning so much. I wasn't even aware of Aspergers until a few weeks ago. :)
