okay I've never sold anything on ebay before, so any tips and advice? I just ordered the book ebay for dummies. I'm selling some celebrity magazine clippings and pin-ups. how good of condition do they have to be in? some of mine are torn on the side (where it was ripped out of the book) they're not in BRAND NEW condition.

Keep it simple and be honest. I've been successful on eBay without an "eBay for dummies" book. One thing I hate is when they use ALL CAPS FOR NO REAL REASON WHAT-SO-EVER. Or having excessively large typeface. I would suggest downloading Turbo Lister as you can lay it all out as you want and upload it/them when ready. I haven't sold anything on eBay for ages, but Turbo Lister is better for realising colours.
Pictures are important. If you don't have a picture, you aren't going to have a successful sale. The more the merrier, but you just need to be careful what you take a picture of. Some people have a bidding length as high as 10 days. I think this is TOO long. Before the listing is finished, the bidder could get bored, cancel the bid and buy relatively cheap from someone else. 5-7days seem better in my experience.

Another tip is to check your account daily. I have heard of ebay sellers having someone else list something on their account and telling the buyer to pay to a different name. You will be billed for selling something that was not yours.

you need a merchant pay pal account to receive money and also connect it to your ebay account

start small with one auction to make sure the Pay Now button works.

print out the address on the printer, cut it out of the paper, and attach to package with clear tape over it.

always rip off the customers on the shipping price

ship item the next day, but make sure they pay first

don't leave feedback until the customer leaves you his

don't buy highlighting or any extra things for your auction they don't work

I'd say be honest about the product you are selling w/o making it seem to bad (I know I know it doesn't make sense) But if it is say torn a little show a picture of it (if you can) and say it has some slight damage along the area it was removed from the magazine at. Stuff like that can make or break a lot of sales so always be honest while keeping the product looking like what it is to you something that is worth having even if it is a little damaged. :)

Some people think the P&P is postage only, it's postage and PACKAGING..... I try to get it as accurate as possible and add on a little extra to cover the listing fee

A picture paints a thousand words...and on E-bay that is scripture.

I'm confused about something.. I want to sell some things in packs. like a t-shirt, poster, and cd all in one to the highest bidder. am I allowed to do that, or do I have to sell them one at a time?

You can sell what you want, as long as you state it in your listing
