Click here to take the test.

I think there's something not quite right about it, but it's fun to see it at least.

Here's what I got:

Economic Left/Right: -9.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.90

It is definatly off. But then again most pop culture type quize things are, just think of all those pop psych tests. But they are fun to take if not taken too seriously.

Questions like this (and there were many):

In criminal justice, punishment should be more important than rehabilitation.

this gives a false dilema. What if your view of justice was more about repayment. Ex: you steal 50 dollars from me I get 50 dollars back from you, plus cost of court.

Others such as this:

A corporation only has rights to its share holders

I think is wrong, but for entirly different reasons all together so it would score me in an area in which I would have no association with.

And they make assumptions on many questions (for example they assume that everyone thinks we need government anyway)

Or

Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers.

Who am I to speak what mothers should do? I have no idea how to answer that.

Also. as in with most polls, some of the questions are "loaded" in a way.

There are many more examples, but then again it isn't really the most serious quiz and is probably meant for fun or a way for a somewhat "political/philisophical rookie" to kind of see where they stand.

Economic Left/Right: 4.12
Social Libertarian: -5.95

More or less the same place as the last time I took the test.

Yea the questions themselves were pretty flawed, but the results were VERY close to what I expected. I thought maybe I'd be a little further right on economics, but not much. Strange too that no one on any of the graphs in the explanation was even close to me really...

I don't quite understand this graph am I supposed to be a full on libertarian or full on communist? I am very suspicious of one of the questions - something like 'does a state with a single party offer a greater degree of democracy' I suspect as a Commie I am supposed to have agreed strongly with this but of course I did not, ideally a socialist state is made up of the representatives of the people and not a particular political party

i read that as "total liberalist commie"

i would end up there as well, except i get pissed off at people, and dream about violence and destruction, and so i settle with a compromise of liberalism under excessive force...

I thought communist was more on the authoritarian side.

There was some question about single-party states having the advantage over multiparty states of being able to react faster. That's just a statement of fact, but they'll interpret the answer as being ideological support for single-party states.

And just about everyone lands next to Gandhi. I think last time I took it I was next to Milton Friedman, just low of the middle vertically and way over on the right.

I am very close to (0,0)

I thought the quiz should have allowed for neutral positions.

Not at all; a true socialist state is the most democratic political model that I am aware of. This is most likely why they have me pinned as a libertarian leftist. It occurs to me that the extremes should be in the corners?
