The physical act of violence can be cathartic and theraputic if applied properly. Some (of the Non-Ghandi set) would also insist that violence is sometimes necessary to defend or maintain one's way of life.
However, you raise a greater philosophical point -- is it correct to
hate something even if it is evil or bad? Hate leads to Suffering. The great Yoda (among others
) tells us this. By hating something, even if it is bad, do we not do something bad ourselves? Is it not better to shun, pity, or wish to re-educate the violent?
Use caution with hate, lest you become what you despise.
My post had nothing to do with the moral aspect of it. I hate violence not because I think it's wrong because I do think there is a time and place to use it as in the case of defense, but because I personally feel very uncomfortable seeing or being in the midst of it. It's unnecessary and pointless in my opinion and I feel much more comfortable solving a problem in a peaceful manner then getting all hyped up and angry ready to fight the next person who disagrees with me. Be violent for all I care, just keep it away from me... I can't handle it.
